Musclebound Diplomacy

When she’s not working on foreign relations, Condoleezza Rice may very well be working out at the gym – as all the world can now see.
The secretary of state agreed to share her exercise routine with a reporter from WRC-TV, Washington’s NBC affiliate. The special segment, “Fitness on the Fast Track,” will air over three days, beginning this morning. A video clip from the show also appeared on the station’s Web site.
And it’s Condi as you’ve never seen her. The nation’s top diplomat dons a white T-shirt and black fitness pants for a series of grueling exercises – lifting leg weights, pumping iron, sweating on a stationary bike.
(snip)
“She works out very hard, she is very strong and has a lot of endurance, perhaps more than one would expect with such a tiny frame,” [WRC anchor Barbara] Harrison said.
(snip)
“She’s an active secretary of state,” State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said….
Does this signal a more muscular diplomacy? “Muscular and agile,” quipped Ereli.
My Secretary of State can beat up your Secretary of State. Um, if you have one.

“HRRRNNN!!! RICE SMASH PUNY HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS!!!”
UPDATE: I would be remiss if I did not mention that this was my 666th post…
