Ohpleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease…

Please, please, please let this be true:

Within the last week, Karl Rove told President Bush and Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten, as well as a few other high level administration officials, that he will be indicted in the CIA leak case and will immediately resign his White House job when the special counsel publicly announces the charges against him, according to sources.

Thanks to watertiger and Attaturk for the heads-up.

If true, the immediate resignation might just be the last time he covers Bush’s ass, as I can easily picture Dubya choking on his own rhetorical pretzels trying to rationalize Rove’s continued employment otherwise.

Friday Quote & Cat Blogging

This week’s quote is from the Charles Bronson classic Death Wish, I shit you not:

Why haven’t you found my dog? He’s vital to my income! He paints such marvelous pictures with his paws!

And, of course, there’ll be other people’s cats…

More shadowy and mysterious Codename F. nostalgia.

That’s gonna leave a mark:

Of 1,003 U.S. adults surveyed in a telephone poll, 29% think Mr. Bush is doing an “excellent or pretty good” job as president, down from 35% in April and significantly lower than 43% in January.

(hat tip to Atrios)

That big red W’s lookin’ a little dinged. But hey, that sky sure is blue…
