A little while back, the shadowy and mysterious Codename V. offered to open her semi-regular bad-movie bashing reviewing up to requests. Well, spear and magic called her bluff and sent in a request, and I am pleased to say that V. did not disappoint. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you… Shark Attack 3: Megalodon! Now who wouldn’t want their favorite bad movie immortalized in such exquisite fashion?

And if that’s not enough, you can also participate in a poll to decide one of the Great Questions Of The Ages: Who Would Win In A Fight: A Human Or A Monkey?

The social, networking side of blogging makes her kinda uncomfortable. But do feel free to e-mail her your bad movie requests. Or just leave ’em here and I’ll see that she gets ’em.

    monkey hands down.

i reckon it depends on what kind of monkey, a macaque is a pretty small monkey. but see what happened to george felix…

last summer i met chuck norris. the photographer i was working with, and i, both have a min. of martial arts experience. he kept wondering if we could take him. not likely, but a monkey could.

I’m not sure about monkeys in general, but I know chimps are much, much stronger than humans. I think if they got a good grip on their human opponent, it would be all over.

On the other hand, I assume that most monkeys are not well versed in martial arts techniques. Except maybe when they’re drunk…

What about who wopuld win in caveman vs. astronauts?

Well, my first thought was that I think a lot of astronauts have military backgrounds (then again, I may be thinking back to the days when they were all test pilots), and should therefore know some hand-to-hand combat techniques which would give them the edge.

But if they’re mostly Air Force, I’m not sure they would have gotten quite the same level of hand-to-hand training. And if they have to fight in their spacesuits, they’re at a serious advantage. Then again, if their helmets are really tough, the suits could be like body armor. It might just end in a standoff, with neither one able to do much damage against the other.

ahh, so then you have heard of drunken monkey style grasshopper? (two different techniques, i believe) but very real, and from what i’ve seen, rather effective.

a chimp is (i could be wrong) 800 times stronger than a human. think tendons, not body mass. then, as V pointed out, there are the fangs.

What about who wopuld win in caveman vs. astronauts?

    neandethal or cro-magnon?

I’m ashamed to say I am a chimp supremicist – I didn’t even consider that there are other kinds of monkeys. Or does a chimp even qualify as a monkey at all?

I’ve always thought of chimps as monkeys, but according to Wikipedia they are considered the smallest of the great apes.

I don’t think it’s inappropriate to think of them as monkeys for hand-to-hand combat purposes.

(Yet another sentence I never thought I’d type)

Jeff Corwin of The Jeff Corwin Experience on Animal Planet is terrified of monkeys – the little guys.

He needs to vote in V’s poll.
