Iran Question

I think it’s pretty obvious by this point that Dubya and the insane double-down neocons are all itching for a disastrous war with Iran. But what about Iran? Are they similarly itchy, knowing that they could inflict serious damage on the United States’ power and prestige, albeit at heavy cost to themselves? Are they willing to make that tradeoff? Will Ahmadinejad or Khameini have their own “Bring ’em on” moment?

I honestly have no idea; I just wanted to ask the question. They certainly haven’t been backing down in the face of Bush’s provocations (and may arguably be engaging in some of their own), but that could just reflect their own desire to show strength and resolve, rather than a lust for war.

i studied kung fu for a bit. like all neophytes i was anxious to show my 6’4″ 220 pound marine corp. brother my new skills. he picked me up in a choke hold that nearly killed me, ok i exaggerate, but i did have a sore throat for several days.

about a year later we got into an encounter, i told him, look man we both know you are going to win, but this time i’m going to hurt you. i sure as hell was not going to back down.
