Eli’s Obsession With The Google

My old blog is the #1 search result for canister zombie.

As it should be.

(This version remains invisible to the Google, however.)

You know, there once was a time when some awful new BushCo./Republican scandal would emerge, and I would think, “This is it, this is the big one. This is the one that’s finally going to bring them down and expose their corruption and incompetence to the world, and no-one will ever trust the Republicans ever again.”

Now I shrug and think, “Yeah, okay, just throw it on the pile with the rest of them.” Yes, the Republicans’ image is in the toilet and circling, but I have yet to see anything that makes me think that their back is broken. The Republicans will limp through the remainder of Dubya’s term, and then spend the next four years scapegoating President Obama/Clinton/Gore for all the economic, military, and geopolitical messes that BushCo. created.

By 2012, the Republicans and their pet media will have 50.0001% of the voting population convinced that the Second Bush Age was a glorious, muscular utopia until the Democrats came along and fucked it all up, and only Compassionate Competent Conservative Jeb can save us.

If you think I’m crazy or unreasonably pessimistic, just look at how quickly the GOP recovered from Nixon… and that was without the media in their pocket. Let me see BushCo. forced to dump Rove, Gonzales, Cheney, and maybe Rice (not so much corrupt, just spectacularly incompetent), then we’ll talk.
