Quote Of The Day

From NYT’s review of Firehouse Dog, a movie I will never watch:

[I]t’s easy for Dewey to capture the boy’s heart by defecating in his lunch and passing gas on his bed. Lifelong marriages have been based on less.

Box. Office. Gold.

You WILL watch it. I have spoken.

That marriage remark seems pretty jokey and implausible until you think about it. I imagine that if your secret kink is crapping in someone’s lunch, and you finally meet someone whose secret kink having their lunch crapped in, well, it’s magic and you never want it to end. “No more crapping in my own lunch for me, suckers!”

And in a way, almost every lifelong marriage likely is built around the couple’s shared answer to the lunch-crapping question. It is only fact that I refrain from crapping in my wife’s lunch, and she mine, that has allowed us to stay married this long.
