Coney Island Funhouse Photoblogging

Now, this was what I vaguely had in mind when I decided that I had to get me some pictures of Coney Island before it got all updated and modernized: Lurid funhouse horror thingies!

Monday Media Blogging – Cinema Gold!

This week, for your video-perusing enjoyment, I offer you clips from one of the all-time greatest movies that no-one has ever heard of: Tapeheads, starring John Cusack and Tim Robbins as video producers.

Devo’s “Baby Doll,” sung in Swedish by Cube Squared. They’re very good sports…

We love the Swanky Modes. Especially this song.

When Fox Attacks

NYT’s public editor does a nice job of smacking down Murdoch’s spokesliar’s claim that NYT deliberately distorted and falsified its reporting on Murdoch’s attempt to buy Dow Jones/WSJ because they fear that it would make the Wall Street Journal a tougher competitor.

But for some reason, doesn’t use the most obvious argument: That the acquisition wouldn’t make the WSJ a more fearsome competitor, because everyone would assume that the entire paper would become unserious right-wing propaganda, not just the editorial page.

Hey, is there any way Murdoch could just buy OpinionJournal? He could hardly make it any worse.
