I’ll sum up: It’s two years later, and New Orleans is pretty much still in ruins, and the Bush administration is obviously in no hurry to do anything about that.

Harry Shearer made the point on Olbermann that not only did George Bush not mention NOLA in his SOTU, Nancy Pelosi didn’t mention it in her Now We Are in Charge speech.
As much as I understand the limitations of Congress when faced by a determined president, that was pretty disturbing to reflect upon.
But we can’t get too depressed yet. The invasion of Iran is warming up on the tarmac, and after that the collapse of the military, the crash of the dollar, and occupation of the United States by Blackwater security troops. So, hang on, we’re just taking off!
