I just noticed the following in the MLB.com play-by-play for today’s Yankees-Devil Rays game:
Defensive Substitution: Alberto Gonzalez replaces shortstop Derek Jeter, batting 2nd, playing shortstop.
Huh. I always thought his defense was pretty weak.
