Whatever keeps him busy and away from a Democratic campaign is okay by me.

My personal preference would be for him to hook up with the Republican nominee’s campaign – that would certainly keep him occupied.

I think just keeping Shrum retired would be a benefit to this plan all by itself. The strange thing is (I’m by no means the first person to note this), that if in any other service business you’d offered to do work for them, and you’d be in charge of ordering whatever you thought you’d needed and you’d make a profit from that purchase, they’d say you were a pirate. Yet it’s the norm in Democratic political consultancy. Even the Republicans seem to know better than to sign up for that sort of thing.
