Don’t desert me, boffins!

Once again, NYT has released their Year In Ideas edition of the Magazine. Some of my personal favorites:

Appendix may have a purpose after all!

Fully functional bridge made out of labels and cardboard tubes.

Disease that wants you to be eaten by cats.

No more Checkers. It’s been solved.

Instant martini pickle!

How to fake a photo technique that makes things look fake.

Thoughts of God (and government) make people nicer.

‘Cuz every girl’s crazy ’bout a strong-gripped man…

Teach your bees to manufacture decorative accents for your home!

Ramadan… In… Spaaaaaace!!!

“Spontaneous knotting of an agitated string.” Saucy!

Ovulation + Lap Dancing = Profit!

New Zealand Yum-Yum Teddy Bear Strike Force Z.

Why being a quitter is awesome.

The first-ever un-weighted self-righting object.

Cement that fights pollution.

Starch is what separated us from the animals.

Energy from the waves. And from the air. And through the air.

Social networking with complete strangers you may be vaguely related to!

The “Endpaper” of patents and their possible inspirations is pretty amusing as well.

*According to Dad, anyway; never actually met the lady myself.
