More Proof That We’re A Nation Of Whiners

“Moderate Republican” Chuck Grassley totally proves Phil Gramm’s point:

So I don’t want anybody telling me that we have to offset a disaster relief package for the Midwest where people are hurting, when we didn’t do it for New Orleans. Why the double standard? Is it because people aren’t on rooftops complaining for helicopters to rescue them, and you see it on television too much? We aren’t doing that in Iowa. We are trying to help ourselves in Iowa. We have a can-do attitude. It doesn’t show up on television like it did in New Orleans for 2 months.

At least Grassley does offer us a slim ray of hope.  After all, not all Americans are whiners.  The ones in the Midwest, for example, are stoic and noble, God bless ’em.

    Not this crap again.

Next time you have a city of half a million people under water folr a month and 65,000 square miles completely devastated, you can check back with me on that stoic and noble bullshit.

We’re rebuilding an entire city with virtually no federal assistance (sorry, most of that $115 billion went the same way the money for rebuilding Iraq went; down the connected-contributor rat hole), out of our own pockets and our own expense (and thousands of volunteers, many from the Midwest, God bless them all).

If you want to talk about people on roof tops complaining, you might want to point out to me which parts of Iowa were under 10-20 feet of water for weeks, and where people were trapped miles from dry land with the nearest safe place fifty miles away. I’m sure under those circumstances, all of those self-reliant Midwesterners would simply swim the couple of miles to dry land then march 30 or 40 or 50 miles to rescue.

You sir are a Fuckmook and an embarrassment to America.

Um, dude, that was *sarcasm*. I’m as disgusted as you are. Unfortunately, I forgot the cardinal rule: That these bastards are just too vile to parody.

Well, damn, BEZB’s is as good a reference as one could hope to have, don’t I feel the complete idiot. I hope you caught his post on Rude Pundit. Fantastic work.

Please feel free to delete the above, or leave it up as a Warning to Youth not to blog after drinking and too close to bedtime.

No sweat, man, I totally understand. Sorry I accidentally pushed your buttons.

I just checked his post out now – excellent. A bit strange to scroll down and see a bunch of posts by someone claiming to be me, though.

I thought he was talking to Grassley there. I’m clearly just as unable to pick up emotional clues from print.
