The Eagleton Has Landed.

Mark Nickolas makes a great catch:

In this afternoon’s New York Times story on the Sarah Palin (R) insanity today was this sentence:

Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina said that he had heard no discussion about removing Ms. Palin from the ticket.

Sometimes, it’s the questions being asked that are more important than the answers.

It took only three days for the “Will McCain change running mates?” question to jump from the liberal blogosphere and become a topic of conversation in the mainstream media.  I had assumed that it would never even be acknowledged as a possibility unless Palin were indicted or caught in bed with her running mate.

BooMan has started a Thomas Eagleton Watch, listing some of the various scandals and embarrassments floating around Palin and the McCain campaign, any combination of which could prove bad enough to boot her off the ticket.  And that’s without even mentioning her former membership in and continued fondness for the fringe-y secessionist Alaskan Independence Party.  Hey, if their agenda had panned out, she might have plenty of executive experience by now – she’d be President! Just… not of the US.

My personal prediction: No matter how bad it gets, McCain will cling to her like grim death… unless the religious right gives him the go-ahead to swap her out for Pawlenty.

How Not To Get Arrested In Minneapolis

In case you haven’t heard about the massive, insane, and very illegal police state activities going on in preparation for the Republican National Convention, this is probably the only way to keep the cops or the Feds from raiding or arresting you:

I THINK EVERYONE INVOLVED HERE IS CUTE.

Somewhere Under The Rainbow

My ridiculously talented almost-cousin Malcolm’s view of the GOP and McCain-Palin ticket.  Works for me.

She’s Just Not That Into You.

What could be worse than checking out your running mate’s ass on national television?

How about copping a feel in a national newspaper photo op (for a fluff piece about “shattering the glass ceiling,” no less)?

Dude, I know you dig her and all, but she’s not that kind of soulmate. And her husband and baby, and your wife are right there! Ewww.

I know, I’m being juvenile, but the dynamic between them is just all kinds of creepy and inappropriate and weird.  Get back to me when Obama starts rubbing up on Joe Biden.

Team Palin Shows Us How It’s Done

Now this is what I call damage control!  Sarah Palin’s underage daughter couldn’t have been pregnant with Trig… because she’s pregnant now. Brilliant!

Now all they have to do is explain what Palin was thinking when she decided to fly (and drive) 11 hours after her water broke (or leaked) to give birth to her high-risk baby at home.
