Good Protest/Bad Protest

Black Tsunami has put his finger on what differentiates a Good Protest from a Bad Protest.

Mobs sponsored and directed by corporate lobbyists to shout, threaten, intimidate and generally shut down all discourse: Good Protest.

People spontaneously protesting against organizations which have harmed and denigrated them personally: Bad Protest.

Well, I’m certainly glad we were able to clear that up.

Anti-Healthcare Teabaggers Murder Irony; Actual People Next

Kenneth “Ken The Victim” Gladney, who is now a conservative martyr because he was briefly pulled to the ground in a scuffle, laments the terrible oppression against his fellow teabaggers:

“It just seems there’s no freedom of speech without being attacked,” Gladney said.

Yes, it’s a terrible shame that the teabaggers’ First Amendment right to bully, intimidate, and threaten anyone else who’s trying to speak should be in any way infringed upon.  Did I mention that in the video of the SHOCKING ATTACK on Gladney, it looks an awful lot like the SEIU guy who pulled Gladney down was trying to protect another SEIU guy who was already on the ground, looking like he was the one getting attacked?

Anyway, no more Mr. Nice Teabagger.  Now they want to use their Second Amendment rights to protect their First Amendment ones:

Based on the news that health care events are edging into violence, an anti-health care reform protester in New Mexico named Scott Oskay is calling on his hundreds of online followers to bring firearms to town halls, and to ‘badly hurt’ SEIU and ACORN counter protesters.

Awesome.  Of course, Oskay immediately backtracked using the right wing’s patented “I was just kidding!” defense. Yeah, we all totally buy that.
