Offensive Metaphor Fail

If you’re going to say vile hateful things about the president – or, indeed, anyone – shouldn’t they at least make some kind of sense?

Today, on the one-year anniversary of the collapse of Lehman Brothers, President Obama will speak on Wall Street to “try to breathe new life into efforts to overhaul the financial regulatory system.” Hate radio host Neal Boortz used his Twitter account this morning to compare the President’s visit to Wall Street to “sending a child molester to speak to a kindergarten class.”

Wha?  If anything, it’s more like sending a kindergartener to speak to child molesters, or, at worst, like sending a child molester to talk to other child molesters.

But to suggest that the banksters who blew up the economy are some kind of innocent victims who were corrupted by Obama is just ridiculous.  And even as an enabler, he pales in comparison to all the Republicans who pushed to roll back every shred of regulation and oversight that might have prevented the credit meltdown.

I think Boortz was just so committed to using that analogy that he would have thrown it out there even if Obama were addressing a room full of actual child molesters.
