It sure would be nice to have a Democratic president and party that gives the progressive movement anywhere near the weight and credibility that they give to a serial liar and political hitman like Breitbart.

When was the last time they acted as quickly and decisively to appease progressives as they did to throw ACORN and Shirley Sherrod under the bus?  And then bragged about it afterwards?

Eli asks, “When was the last time they acted as quickly and decisively to appease progressives as they did to throw ACORN and Shirley Sherrod under the bus?”

    1935 and the Wagner Act?

Seriously, at the peak of liberalism’s power, they didn’t even pass civil rights legislation until there had been numerous murders and the national news started broadcasting the beatings of civil rights workers.

1948 they went along with McCarthyism.

1968 was another really good year for the treatment of progressives. The Chicago Police Riot and all.

In 1978, Carter did give amnesty to those people who had been right about Vietnam. That was nice of him. He also started the deregulation binge that wrecked unions and brought down living standards.

1992: Sister Souljah. Followed by the famous vanishing side agreements to NAFTA, which completed the destruction of the labor movement and the middle class.

So, I would go with 1935 and the Wagner Act.
